ST. LOUIS — A cold night is on the way Wednesday night as temperatures tumble back into the lower 20s.
Thursday remains cold with 30s for highs and overnight lows into Friday morning, once again, in the 20s. Late Friday morning snow and sleet are expected with light freezing rain quickly mix in around lunchtime.
By the afternoon, freezing drizzle and sleet will eventually change over to all rain. There is the potential to pick up a light glaze of icing across the area with higher amounts towards the Ozarks and Central Missouri.
Overall, less than a tenth of an inch of ice is expected and temperatures will warm above freezing by the afternoon with the wintry mix changing over to all rain.
The rain will continue Friday night into Saturday morning and end Saturday afternoon.
Rainfall totals will range from .5 to 1.50 inches. Temperatures will also fall through the 30s Saturday with wind chills in the 20s most of the day.
Sunday through the entire next week will be very cold with morning lows in the single digits and teens with highs only topping out in the 20s and 30s.
