ST. LOUIS — Another area of light snow developed Wednesday evening and areas of light snow and perhaps a little freezing drizzle will remain possible through the overnight hours into early Thursday morning.
Accumulation will be light with some areas seeing very little if any and a few perhaps get close to an inch of snow. Most areas that see snow will see a light coating to a half an inch.
Perry Co, Missouri to Jefferson Co Illinois, the winter weather advisory continues until 6 p.m. on Thursday.
This is mainly for light freezing rain and sleet that is expected through Wednesday afternoon, evening and into early Thursday morning. Around 0.05 to 0.15 inches of ice accumulation is expected.
Ice storm warnings continue from southeast Missouri on into a large part of Kentucky.
Cold temperatures are another problem. With readings in the teens, any snow or wintry mix that falls easily sticks. Road crews have trouble with such light amounts in these temperatures because the chemicals are not as effective and the snow is not deep enough to easily plow.
