ST. LOUIS — A warm front will lift through the area early Thursday morning, bringing fog and a brief, passing shower before noon, especially north of St. Louis.
By the afternoon, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds with very warm temperatures, near 80 degrees.
Thursday evening, thunderstorms will fire along a cold front across northwestern Missouri and those storms will sink into the area late Thursday night into Friday morning. In fact, the storms may congeal into a line with damaging, gusty winds on the leading edge.
The time frame for these storms will be from 2 to 6 a.m., so make sure you have a way to get weather warnings. You can download the 5 On Your Side app for free and receive weather warnings automatically (Just make sure notifications are turned on).
Storms should clear the area by 7 a.m. Friday, but before doing so could put down some heavy rain. Upwards of 1.50" of rain could fall across the Bi-state with more than 2" possible across central and southwestern Missouri, where Flash Flood Watches are posted. More thunderstorms are in the forecast for the upcoming weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.
Next week looks great with sunshine to kick off the week and temperatures warming through the 70s to near 80 by mid-week.
