Several MetroBus routes out of service Tuesday due to flash flooding

Flooding has prevented buses from pulling out of the Brentwood MetroBus facility, resulting in no service for several routes.

ST. LOUIS — As heavy rain continues to come down Tuesday morning in the St. Louis area, flooding has affected several MetroBus routes.

According to Metro Transit, flash flooding on Brentwood Boulevard prevented buses from pulling out of the Brentwood MetroBus facility. 

As of 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the following MetroBus routes were out of service:

  • #9 Oakville.
  • #21 Watson Road.
  • #31 Chouteau.
  • #56 Kirkwood-Webster.
  • #98 Ballas-North Hanley.

Limited bus service has been restored to the following routes:

  • #8 Shaw-Cherokee.
  • #11 Chippewa.
  • #30 Arsenal.
  • #47 Hanley.
  • #49 Lindbergh.
  • #57 Manchester.
  • #70 Grand.
  • #73 Carondelet.

MetroBus riders on the impacted routes were advised to find alternative transportation. Routes will be restored as soon as possible as weather conditions improve, according to Metro Transit.

Metro Transit said it would update riders on its social media and website when the routes are back in service.
