Significant delays to some MetroBus routes Tuesday due to flash flooding

Metro Transit said customers using impacted bus routes should plan for significant delays.

ST. LOUIS — As heavy rain continued to come down Tuesday morning in the St. Louis area, flooding affected several MetroBus routes.

Earlier Tuesday morning, flash flooding on Brentwood Boulevard prevented buses from pulling out of the Brentwood MetroBus facility.

As of 9:15 a.m., limited MetroBus service has been restored to all routes impacted by flooding. Riders on the following routes should expect significant delays:

  • #8 Shaw-Cherokee
  • #9 Oakville
  • #11 Chippewa
  • #21 Watson Road
  • #30 Arsenal
  • #31 Chouteau
  • #47 Hanley
  • #49 Lindbergh
  • #56 Kirkwood-Webster
  • #57 Manchester
  • #70 Grand
  • #73 Carondelet
  • #98 Ballas-North Hanley

Metro Transit said it will continue to add service to those routes as floodwaters recede and buses can be dispatched out of the Brentwood facility.

Customers should allow extra time for their commute as flooding is also causing delays for other routes in St. Louis and St. Louis County.
