MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — Police closed the northbound lanes of Big Bend near Manchester Monday afternoon after a man was struck and killed. The lanes have since reopened.
Police said a 62-year-old man was struck and killed on Big Bend just north of Manchester at around 2:15. The driver of the car left the scene but was stopped by police and taken into custody by Webster Groves police for questioning. The man has been identified as Albert Johnson.
Police closed all northbound lanes to investigate the crash. As of 6:15 p.m., the lanes were re-opened.
