Here's when the sunflower field opens at Eckert's

The field of sunflowers reaching up to 5-feet tall provides the perfect photo backdrop, but it won't be around for long.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — The sunflowers are back at Eckert's Farm in Belleville.

Starting Thursday, July 25, guests can visit the 2-acre sunflower field and cut their own flowers to take home, according to a release from Eckert's. The field will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays until Aug. 4.

Tickets for the Sunflower Farm Experience start at $8 per person, with field access starting at $3 on weekdays and $10 on weekends. Kids under 2 get in for free. The field pass also includes access to pick-your-own peaches and blackberries, according to the farm.

Explore the sunflower field at sunset from 6-9 p.m. July 25 and Aug. 1. Guests 21 and older can enjoy a tractor ride through the sunflowers and get a complimentary cocktail from the Cider Shed. Afterward, guests will return to the Cider Shed for a flight of Eckert's hard ciders and a "jarcuterie." Tickets are $30 per person, and reservations are required.

Eckert's Sunflower Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Belleville farm and will feature activities like a sunflower mini photo session (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), face painting, sunflower-themed cocktails and coffee from the Hot Mess Express Coffee Truck (from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

The photo session package costs $125 and includes a 15-minute photo session for up to six people, five high-resolution images, one pick-your-own sunflower per person and access to the sunflower field and any other pick-your-own attractions.

Eckert's expects Aug. 4 to be the last day of pick-your-own peaches.
