ST. LOUIS — The Muny announced its shows and now it needs its stars. St. Louis' outdoor theater announced when it’ll hold auditions for the 2020 season.
Registration opens Monday, Dec. 2 at 12:01 a.m. for all audition dates.
The Muny will be looking for union and non-union performers ‘who are strong dancers who can sing and strong singers who move well.’ In a news release, The Muny added that it likes to feature everyone from local performers to Broadway stars, emerging young artists to students at top-ranking performing arts programs nationwide.
Here are the audition dates for the 2020 season:
- Jan. 9-10: Equity Principal Auditions – Chicago
- Jan. 27: St. Louis Resident Non-Equity Open Call
- Jan. 29: St. Louis Resident Equity Call
- Feb. 1-2: Equity Chorus Call Singers and Dancer Open Call – St. Louis
- Feb. 8-9: Muny Kids
- Feb. 18-20: Muny Teens

The 2020 season features crowd favorites, classic musicals and a couple Muny premieres.

- "Chicago" - June 15-21
- "Mary Poppins" - June 24-July 2
- "Sweeney Todd" - July 6-12
- "Smokey Joe’s Cafe" - July 14-20
- "The Sound of Music" - July 23-29
- "On Your Feet!" - August 1-7
- "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" - August 10-16
New subscriptions will go on sale on March 9, 2020, and single tickets will be available beginning May 11, 2020.
