Missouri native turned global superstar shown love in local Spotify Wrapped

The singer got high praise locally, along with other superstars like Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, and Sabrina Carpenter.

ST. LOUIS — A Missouri native turned global pop icon saw huge success throughout St. Louis in 2024, according to this year's Spotify Wrapped.

The music streaming service released its yearly recap on Wednesday, including a breakdown of the top artists, songs, and albums of each city.

St. Louis residents apparently couldn't get enough of Chappell Roan, who was born in Willard, Missouri, outside of Springfield. Roan's debut album, "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess," was the fourth most-listened-to album of the year in the city. The list included other superstars, including:

  1. "THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY" by Taylor Swift
  2. "One Thing At A Time" by Morgan Wallen
  3. "Stick Season" by Noah Kahan
  4. "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess" by Chappell Roan
  5. "Short n’ Sweet" by Sabrina Carpenter

Roan was also nominated for six Grammy Awards, including some of the show's most prestigious awards: 

  • Album of the Year - "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess"
  • Record of the Year - “Good Luck, Babe!”
  • Song of the Year - “Good Luck, Babe!”
  • Best New Artist - Chappell Roan 
  • Best Pop Solo Performance - “Good Luck, Babe!”
  • Best Pop Vocal Album - "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess"

Over the past year, she toured across the country on "The Midwest Princess Tour," performed at festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza and opened for Olivia Rodrigo during her "Guts World Tour." She recently performed on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest with host John Mullaney.
