ST. LOUIS — Art comes in many forms – it’s not just a painting on a wall. The Saint Louis Art Museum is pairing fine art in floral form at the annual Art in Bloom.
“Bringing different mediums of art together,” said Dean Riebeling, the co-owner of Botanicals Design Studio on South Grand. He has been participating in this festival for years.
Riebeling is one of thirty designers invited to bring a display inside the Saint Louis Art Museum. Josh Davis of Botanicals Design Studio is also participating.
Participants pick a piece of paper out of a hat, and that decides what work of art each one will be working with. The drawing happened about two months ago, giving the floral designers enough time to plan for Art in Bloom.
The museum asks participants to not create a duplicate, but to create one’s own interpretation and bring it to life.
Art in Bloom is Friday through Sunday, March 6 – 8, 2020.
