1 dead in double shooting in north St. Louis

The shooting occurred Wednesday night in St. Louis' Columbus Square neighborhood.

ST. LOUIS — An investigation is underway after a double shooting north of downtown St. Louis left one man dead.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of N. 13th Street in the Columbus Square neighborhood around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday where a 53-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

While officers were on scene, they learned a 42-year-old man had been shot and was transported to a hospital by someone. He was listed in critical condition.

A short time later, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department was notified the 42-year-old man died from his injuries.

The 53-year-old man was listed in critical condition and his vitals were unstable.
