Illinois police looking for armed man after Staunton bank robbery

STAUNTON, Ill. — Police in Illinois are looking for a man they said was armed when he robbed a bank in Staunton, Illinois, Thursday afternoon.

A spokesman for the Illinois State Police said the man walked into the bank on the 400 block of W. North Street in Staunton at around 3:10 and demanded money.

The spokesman said he ran off and has not been found.

Police said he was wearing a black shirt, black pants and white shoes. He was carrying a gun and an umbrella at the time of the robbery.

The Staunton Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information should call police.
