ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and multiple other crimes after police said he shot and killed an employee more than five years ago.
According to a press release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, 29-year-old Derrick Adams was charged with first-degree murder, attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action for allegedly shooting and killing 42-year-old Robert Woods on Nov. 1, 2018.
In the weeks after the shooting, police released video showing the suspect, now identified as Adams, walking into the store at 4038 N. Grand Boulevard with the gun in his hand. Police said he pointed it at several people before firing one shot, killing the store worker.
Police did not say how they identified Adams as the alleged shooter. He was arrested and charged on Wednesday.
