Man charged with murder after woman killed in Midtown

ST. LOUIS — A man was charged with murder Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a 22-year-old woman in the Midtown neighborhood of St. Louis.

David Aaron, 24, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action after police said he shot and killed 22-year-old Tyra Harris on Oct. 13.

Police said they were called to the courtyard area of an apartment complex on the 2900 block of Samuel Shepard Drive, where a woman was found shot and killed.

During their investigation, police found security video of the apartment complex that showed a large group of people in the area at around the time of the shooting.

Police used the video to find a witness, who told them Aaron fatally shot Harris. The witness told police Aaron and Harris were previously in a relationship.

He is being held without bond.
