ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with a deadly triple shooting outside of a bar on Christmas Eve 2023.
Jermel Williams, 31, was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of assault in connection with the shooting that killed Kenneth Covington and left two others injured.
According to charging documents, police were called to a bar on the 11200 block of West Florissant Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found three men with gunshot wounds. All three were rushed to the hospital where Covington died.
During the investigation, officers determined that two of the victims got into a fight with Williams. All three of the men were then kicked out. While outside, police said there were shots fired from at least three different guns.
According to charging documents, Williams was arrested for an homicide in the city of St. Louis and police found two guns that were linked to the scene of the Christmas Eve shooting.
He is currently in custody in the City of St. Louis where he is being held without bond.
