ST. LOUIS — A mother is facing charges after police said she got onto a school bus and used mace on a student.
Latrisha Batteast, 41, was charged with third-degree assault and trespassing on a school bus in connection with the Sept. 26 incident.
Charging documents said Batteast's daughter was on the bus and thought other students were gossiping about her, so she called her mom. At the next bus stop near the intersection of Maffitt and North Newstead Avenues, Batteast got onto the bus and rubbed the student's face with mace.
Her bond was set at $10,000.
The company that operates the bus, First Student, also filed a restraining order against Batteast.
