Overland man accused of threatening to kill gay people at St. Louis' PrideFest

Edward Terry sent a message to organizers saying he would come to PrideFest with his guns and "kill every gay person I can. "

ST. LOUIS — An Overland man is accused of threatening to kill gay people at the annual pride celebration in St. Louis.

Edward A. Terry, 49, was charged Tuesday with making a terrorist threat.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said Terry created a fake email account and sent a message in May to one of PrideSTL's parade planners. The message claimed that he would come to PrideFest with his guns and "kill every gay person I can."

The court documents go on to say the PrideSTL manager contacted the FBI about the email and police traced the account to Terry's cellphone number.

After Terry admitted to the threat, police took him into custody.

Police said Terry had recently been kicked out of his home in Overland and used the name of a woman he used to live with to create the email account.

Terry is being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
