ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A second man was charged Thursday in the July shooting death of a man at a St. Louis County gas station.

Deshawn Johnson, 26, of Florissant was charged with second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance.

In court documents, St. Louis County police said on July 8, Johnson was with another person to arrange a drug deal between Unice Hobby IV, 25, of Belleville and 20-year-old Dennis Cooperwood.

Police said the deal happened at the Circle K at 5215 Lucas and Hunt Road in Norwood Court.

Officers said Johnson negotiated the terms of the sale, and during the sale of narcotics, Hobby shot and killed Cooperwood.

Johnson was held on $300,000 cash-only bond.

A bond reduction hearing is set for Oct. 25. His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 14.
