Armed thief cuts through wall to steal truck from Eureka car lot

The suspect was caught on camera with a gun in his hand.

EUREKA, Mo. — It was a lot of work for the man who stole this bright red Dodge "dually" from Gateway Auto Connection in Eureka.

The thief unscrewed the metal siding from the office building, then tore away at the insulation and drywall. Look at the damage he left behind.

The surveillance footage from inside the office shows the desk being moved from the wall, then an armed man popping up in the next frame. The intruder then tucks his gun into his waistband and moves off-camera.

"He took all the keys to the Dodge trucks on the lot," Amy Cowsert with Gateway Auto Connection tells Five On Your Side, "Found the one he was after, then he cut through the back fence and drove out that way."

Gateway Auto Connection is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the missing truck and the man who broke into their building.

When the truck was taken it had an Oklahoma license plate, GIN 242.

Eureka Police are also looking into the theft.
