WENTZVILLE, Mo. — Police have identified the man who they arrested after they say he barricaded himself in a home in the 1800 block of Hackmann Hollow Drive on Friday night.

The Wentzville Police Department said in a Saturday press release that Christopher M. Cook, 24, has been charged with one count each of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting/interfering with arrest.

Police responded to the scene at around 6:20 p.m. for a call for a domestic assault between a mother and son. A woman suffered a minor injury but was able to get away and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police said Cook approached officers and threw a knife at them, and one of the officers fired several gunshots. No one was hurt, and the Cook ran back into the home, police said.

Police remained on the scene with a SWAT team and a negotiator until the man was taken into custody at around 2:15 a.m.

Several nearby homes were evacuated Friday evening. Police said the suspect is known to police and they believe he has a prior criminal history.

Cook is in jail on $25,000 bond with no 10% authorized.
