CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — The Parkway Board of Education is bringing a superintendent with 27 years of experience in grade school education to the Parkway School District.
Wednesday night, the school board announced that Dr. Melissa Schneider will serve as the district's next superintendent starting July 1, 2025.
The board said "Dr. Schneider has spearheaded initiatives that increased graduation rates, expanded career pathways in areas such as artificial intelligence and public safety, and ensured all students have access to high-quality educational opportunities."
Schneider will replace superintendent Keith Marty, who announced his retirement in early June.
She currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services at the Thompson School District in Loveland, Colorado.
“We are confident that Dr. Schneider is the right leader to guide Parkway into the future,” said Jeff Todd, president of the Parkway Board of Education. “Her focus on innovation, equity, and building strong relationships deeply impressed the Board. We are excited to welcome her to Parkway and are confident that her leadership will continue to elevate our district.”
The board said Schneider will collaborate closely with Marty until he retires on June 30, 2025.
