ST. LOUIS — Downtown restaurant Billy's on Broadway said it plans to close Friday, with its shuttering coming only a little more than a year after it opened.
The sports bar, 701 S. Broadway, said in a social media post Tuesday the "current landscape of the restaurant industry has become increasingly challenging. That "pushed us beyond our reasonable limits," the post said. Billy's on Broadway opened in June 2023.
"While we're unable to continue in our current form, we remain hopeful for the future and are exploring opportunities to reimagine our concept or foster a relationship for new owners. For now, we simply cannot find a way to move forward as we are," the restaurant said in its social media post.
The restaurant property previously was home to music venue Beale on Broadway, which closed in 2019.
Another downtown bar, arcade bar Start Bar, closed Oct. 14.
