CREVE COEUR, Mo. — A new kosher deli plans to open in the wake of the closure earlier this month of St. Louis’ only full-service kosher deli, an organization involved said.
Nate’s Kosher Deli will start operating with a soft launch at the site of the former Kohn’s Kosher Meat and Deli Restaurant in Creve Coeur until it finds a permanent location. That's according to a letter by the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis, an organization that grants kosher certification, that was shared on social media late Thursday by St. Louisan A.J. Moll, who holds a minority stake in Kohn's deli.
The new Nate’s Kosher Deli will be owned and operated by Avi Rosenberg, Vaad Hoeir said. Rosenberg "is relocating to St. Louis with his young family" to operate the new deli, which will at first consist of a dine-in and takeout delicatessen, take-out catering and a butchery, the letter said.
