MARSHALL, Ill. — A woman from Florissant was facing charges after a crash involving an Illinois trooper squad car Friday.
An Illinois State Police trooper was investigating a weather-related crash on Interstate 70 near milepost 151 in Clark County, Illinois, at about 5:41 p.m.
The trooper's squad car was on the right shoulder and its emergency lights were activated. The trooper was not in the car.
ISP said Tiffany Paige Henderson, 32, was driving a red Ford when the vehicle struck the back of the empty squad car.
Henderson was charged with Move Over Law- Failure to Yield to Stationary Emergency Vehicle, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash, and Driving While License Suspended.
Illinois law requires drivers to slow down and move over when approaching any vehicle with emergency lights activated.
