ST. LOUIS — It is the day that forever changed William Griffin: the day he lost his daughter, Jackie Griffin.
“My daughter was murdered. September the 22 at 11:30 p.m.,” Griffin said. “My daughter was slaughtered on the streets of STL, shot multiple times.”
In the two weeks since that day, there is still no arrest.
On the day Jackie was laid to rest, Griffin said he and his family cannot fully feel at peace. He wants justice. Griffin invited 5 On Your Side to his daughter's funeral to show the toll of gun violence in the community.
“Gun violence needs to stop,” Griffin said. “Definitely the ones who kill my baby. They need to be held for justice.”
Jackie was found shot and killed inside a car with a man, Derrick Hudson.
“She was with someone she knew,” Griffin said. “Evidently, there was a problem with him and some other person and my daughter was just there. They shot and killed him and my daughter was just there.”
Jackie was 26 and was a mother to a 9-year-old boy.
“If you have a heart, it could be you standing here. Please contact the St. Louis Police homicide division,” Griffin said. “She was the centerpiece of the family. She was daddy's baby.”
