WASHINGTON, Mo. — A two-car crash left one man dead in Washington County Friday night.
Dispatchers got a call about the two-car crash after 7:30 p.m. Later, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene on Missouri Route 21 about three miles north of Potosi and near Goldenrod Road.
According to the crash report, Douglas Andrea, 54, was driving a Ford Ranger traveling southbound on Missouri 21 when he lost control of his car due to icy roads. The Ford Ranger rotated counterclockwise and traveled into the northbound lane.
During that time, another driver, Donte Moore, 32, traveling in the northbound lane hit the side of Douglas' car, police said.
Four people were involved in this accident. Police said, there was a passenger in Andrea's car and a passenger in Moore's car.
Police said that Andrea and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts.
Andrea died on the scene, police said. Andrea's passenger was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Moore and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were wearing their seatbelts at the time of impact.
