ST. LOUIS — If you are looking for a free, family-friendly event this weekend, the Missouri History Museum might have the perfect event for you.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Missouri History Museum will be holding its Dia de los Muertos Festival in Forrest Park.

The event will feature free music, food and drink vendors, face painting and a quarter-mile-long procession of family altars through Forest Park.

Some of the other child-friendly activities include make-and-take crafts, coloring stations and a scavenger hunt.

“This event is a unique and meaningful way to engage the entire St. Louis community with our region's Hispanic residents and their culture," Missouri History Museum director Lindsay Newton said. "Many people come back to celebrate their loved ones and their lives year after year, but the celebration also keeps growing with more new visitors and events.”

The festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Missouri History Museum.
