St. Louis County Police believe they have found the body of Jennifer Rothwell near Cuivre River State Park in Lincoln County

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said Beau Rothwell and his attorney were cooperating with the investigation.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. — St. Louis County Police said they believe they have found the body of Jennifer Rothwell near Cuivre River State Park in Lincoln County Monday night.

As of 9:30 p.m., a large presence from the St. Louis County Police Department was near the intersection of Highway 61 and KK in Lincoln County searching in a wooded area with spotlights.

St. Louis County Police police chief Jon Belmar said the body was found in the Troy area about two miles north of Highway 47 along U.S. Route 61.

Police said they still have to confirm if the body is Jennifer Rothwell.

Monday night, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar confirmed that the search was related to the Jennifer Rothwell case. St. Louis County Police spokesman Ben Granda confirmed the search and said it was part of an ongoing investigation.

Belmar said Beau Rothwell and his attorney were cooperating with the investigation.

The search in Lincoln County comes just hours after police said they continued the search for missing St. Louis County woman Rothwell in Creve Coeur. Numerous officers were searching near the 12700 block of Olive Road Monday afternoon.

Belmar said the search in Creve Coeur was a sweep for evidence.
