ST. LOUIS — Football and Thanksgiving have been synonymous in America for a long time. In St. Louis, Kirkwood and Webster Groves football have been synonymous with the holiday for 112 years.
The oldest high school rivalry west of the Mississippi River adds another chapter this year, with the Pioneers and Statesmen once again competing for the Frisco Bell.
Kirkwood is 6-4 on the season and Webster Groves went 5-5.
This year's contest was another entertaining entry into the historic rivalry, but it was Kirwood who came out on top 42 to 28.
