Community trying to save homes in small town of Nutwood, Illinois

NUTWOOD, Ill. — Community members are working to build a secondary levee in the hopes of saving homes from the rising Illinois River.

Community members are organizing the effort to keep the homes dry.

They put out the call on the Jerseyville Scanner Page on Facebook.

Volunteers can meet at the north barn on Powers Road in Nutwood Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
