ST. LOUIS — Customers will be able to sip on handcrafted coffee drinks while they shop starting this fall at two St. Louis-area grocery stores.
Schnuck Markets, Inc. announced Thursday that Starbucks would be bringing cafés to its Hampton Village and Cross Keys stores, located at 60 Hampton Village Plaza in south St. Louis and 12987 New Halls Ferry Road in Florissant.
The announcement comes as both locations are undergoing total-store remodels.
In addition to the Starbucks café, the Hampton Village renovations will include:
- New checkout lanes, shelf-checkouts, lighting and décor.
- An expanded and relocated bakery and liquor department.
- A relocated fresh sushi area.
- Relocated and expanded frozen food and dairy departments.
- A new refrigeration system.
- A new cheese shop.
- Renovated and expanded deli and produce departments.
The Cross Keys renovations will include:
- New entrances, lighting, décor, checkout lanes and self-checkouts.
- An expanded and relocated bakery.
- A renovated produce department.
- A new and relocated liquor department, CVS pharmacy and florist.
- A renovated and expanded deli.
- A relocated fresh sushi area.
- Expanded frozen food and dairy departments with case replacements.
In January, Schnucks estimated both store remodels would be completed by late fall.
Starbucks already operates cafés inside of grocery competitor Dierbergs' West Oak (11481 Olive Blvd.) and Brentwood (8450 Eager Road) stores.
