Man shot, injured after 'road rage incident' on I-70, St. Louis police say

The victim was engaged in a "road rage incident" with a white vehicle on eastbound I-70 between Goodfellow Boulevard and Carrie Avenue, police said.

ST. LOUIS — A man was injured after a "road rage incident" on Interstate 70 in St. Louis Thursday, police said. 

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call at 4 p.m. and located the victim at Von Phul Street and Adelaide Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. 

The victim, a 54-year-old man, said he was engaged in a "road rage incident" with a white vehicle on eastbound I-70 between Goodfellow Boulevard and Carrie Avenue, police said. 

The man told police the incident escalated until the driver of the white vehicle pulled up alongside him and fired gunshots at his vehicle. 

EMS responded to Von Phul and Adelaide, where the man reported the incident, and transported him to an area hospital. He was listed in stable condition. 

The investigation remains ongoing. 

This was the third incident on I-70 this week in the St. Louis area. 

On Tuesday, Berkeley police responded to I-70 near North Hanley Road to a call for "shots fired." 

A teenager was killed and a woman was injured after being shot Wednesday morning near I-70 and Madison Street, St. Louis police said.
